Sending a personal check will only delay your order as we wait for it to clear.

During Halloween season, we prefer to take only credit cards.  Merchandise moves so quickly that by the time we receive your check, the merchandise could already be out of stock.

PRIVACY  POLICY:

  • We do not store your credit card information.
  • We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information.
  • We may e-mail our customers from time to time.

COSTUME  RETURN  POLICY:

  • Inspect and try on the new costume immediately upon receipt.
  • If the costume is not suitable, customers  must call or e-mail for a Return Merchandise Authorization  WITHIN 2 CALENDAR DAYS of receipt of merchandise.  (We verify receipt through Delivery Confirmation Receipt tracking.)
  • For example, if the merchandise is received on Saturday, the 20th, the customer must call or e-mail no later than Monday, the 22nd.
  • Customer must receive a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) first, before sending the return.  E-Mail us or call (858) 538-8902 (San Diego CA - Pacific Time Zone) for an RMA number.
  • The original Sales Receipt, or copy of it, must be included in the packaging, with the Return Merchandise Authorizatin number clearly written on the enclosed paperwork..
  • Costumes must be returned neatly folded and packaged in the same bag in which they came. 
  • Returned costumes must have never been worn, but only tried on.
  • Only the price of the costume itself is refundable.
  • The customer is responsible for all shipping & handling charges coming and going, plus a 10% re-stocking fee.  (This is the industry standard return policy for Halloween shops.)
  • In October our staff is under such an extreme workload that credits for returned Halloween costumes may not be processed until as late as November 15th. 

Costumes are considered one-time-use garments, and therefore most costume companies adhere to strict return policies..  Costumes returned close to or after Halloween usually have to be stored for a year until they are re-sold.  Therefore,  we require a prompt return of unwanted costumes in order to reduce to number of hold-over items for next year.   Please be patient about return credits during October.  Staff is doing the best they can to get people their costumes, and processing returns are usually put on hold until after Halloween.

MAY  I  VISIT  YOUR   STORE  WHILE  IN  SAN  DIEGO?

Our San Diego location is not a retail store.  It is a warehouse, shipping and office location only.  We do not allow visitors as they unduly interfere with the work flow.  There is no showroom, and there is no place to try on costumes or conduct business.  We don't have a cash register or credit card point-of-sale terminal.  We don't permit costume pick-ups or return drop-offs at our shipping location.  All our business transactions are done through the web and the mail.  If customers do show up unexpectedly, we are sorry but we have to ask them to leave.  Since we are a web store, all business communications are done via e-mail, the web, the mail or on the telephone. 

For customers who prefer to look at actual costumes before purchasing, we suggest a brick-and-mortar costume shop, of which there are several in the city of San Diego.   

SECURITY

The shopping cart or "basket" and all order transaction web screens are done on a secure web server and are 128-bit encrypted via HTTPS protocol and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) to provide the highest level of security available to the public.  This is indicated on your browser by the "https" URL and the padlock symbol appearing in the status bar on the bottom-right of your screen.

Our catalog, meaning our product database and pictures of our stock, are not hosted on a secure web server because this requires considerable processing overhead both on our server and your PC to encrypt and decrypt the web content.  There is no need to secure pictures and catalog text as there is no security risk in browsing our catalog.  As soon as you add an item to the basket, however, you will see the URL change to "https" and the padlock symbol appear because then you are connected to the secure server with SSL authentication and encryption.

We use VeriSign as our credit card processor.  Verisign is an industry leader and takes stringent measures to protect their servers from hackers and viruses. We take advantage of the latest security features Verisign offers.

At our offices in San Diego, we use a SonicWall Firewall-Router, Symantec Norton Internet Security and Anti-Virus software which is automatically updated.  We do updates on our Microsoft and Norton software weekly. All our e-mail communications are scanned for viruses before being sent to you.  We take all reasonable precautions to protect both you and us from unauthorized access to our business information. 

PRIVACY

Customer information gathered is solely for processing the transaction. We do not store your credit card information. If you have purchased from us, or elected to join our E-Mail list, we will contact you only for informational purposes such as announcing seasonal inventory or sales. We do not exchange, rent, sell or in any way publish our customer information to anyone!

  • We are a web-only business in San Diego, California. We do not have a walk-in storefront.
  • Twice-as-Nice-Shop.com, CostumeShop.biz and Costume-Shop.biz are our URLs.
  • The Twice-As-Nice-Shop.com was first established in the year 2000, and sells matching children's twin clothing.
  • In 2001, we expanded into costumes, and that part of the business grew very rapidly. 
  • We developed a specialty in children's costumes, and animal costumes in particular. 
  • We are a small family-run business, with two or three employees during most of the year.  However at Halloween we have a large increase in staff.
